Premium Ingredients
The natural bones in Meat Mixer come from 100% grass-fed New Zealand cattle. Unlike bone meal, our bones are dried without acids, chemicals and bleaches and never heat treated. This delivers a premium source of calcium with the naturally occurring proteins, minerals and growth factors found in real bones. Our bones are 3rd party tested to be low in glyphosate and harmful heavy metals.
Bovine liver is an exceptionally nutrient-dense food, providing a rich source of vitamins A, D, E, K, B12, folic acid, and minerals such as iron, copper, and zinc, which are crucial for various bodily functions including immune support, energy metabolism, and red blood cell production. The liver's abundance of essential amino acids and antioxidants also supports overall health by promoting detoxification processes, enhancing skin health, and contributing to the maintenance of muscle mass.
Bovine heart is a rich source of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), amino acids, and the B-complex vitamins, including B12, all of which are essential for cardiovascular health and energy production within cells. The high CoQ10 content in heart supports the heart's function and overall energy levels, while its amino acids are crucial for building and maintaining muscle tissue, including the heart muscle itself. Consuming bovine heart can also contribute to stamina, endurance, and recovery from physical exertion, making it a valuable addition to a nutrient-dense diet.
Organic broccoli is a nutrient-dense vegetable packed with vitamins C and K, folate, potassium, and fiber, contributing to a wide range of health benefits, including supporting immune function, bone health, and digestive wellness. Its high levels of antioxidants, such as sulforaphane, offer protective effects against chronic diseases by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. Organically-grown broccoli has the added benefit of minimizing exposure to synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, offering a cleaner and more environmentally friendly option for your dog's diet.
Kelp is an excellent source of iodine, a vital nutrient for thyroid function and metabolic regulation. It also contains a wealth of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin K, calcium, and magnesium, which support bone health, and is rich in antioxidants that support cellular health. Our organically certified kelp ensures it is harvested in a sustainable manner and free from synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, making it a healthier choice for both your dog and the environment.
Agaricus mushrooms are known for their immune-supporting properties due to their beta-glucan content, which supports a healthy immune system. They're also rich in antioxidants, support liver health and they're a good source of vitamin D.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Meat Mixer better than prepared raw or cooked foods?
Meat is the most expensive ingredient in pet foods: it’s expensive to source and it’s expensive to ship. In an effort to keep product costs down, even small pet food makers may need to cut corners on the quality of their meats.
Meat Mixer gives you the freedom to source high quality meats from your local farmer, giving you full control over the quality of the #1 ingredient in your dog’s food. Or, if you have budget concerns, you can stock up on meat when it’s on sale and still give your dog the super premium meal they deserve.
Why is Meat Mixer better than homemade food?
Meat Mixer is scientifically formulated to meet NRC nutritional requirements when combined with higher quality meats. Meat Mixer takes the guesswork out of raw feeding, so your dog gets all the critical nutrients in the right combinations.
Meat Fixer is also convenient. Just add it to your dog’s favorite ground protein, mix with water and serve it raw or cooked!
Why is Meat Mixer better than other base mixes?
While other base mixes rely on synthetic vitamins or large amounts of veggies for nutrients, Meat Mixer is over 50% beef (freeze-dried bones, liver and heart). We believe an ancestral diet is the key to good health, so Meat Mixer is expertly formulated to mimic the diet your dog would eat in the wild - while still meeting NRC nutritional requirements when combined with recommended proteins.
Meat Mixer delivers critical minerals in the natural balance that’s only found in bone. Our bone is 100% grass-fed New Zealand beef that’s carefully freeze-dried to retain other important nutrients including amino acids, growth factors and collagen.
Finally, the organic greens in Meat Mixer are carefully powdered so even picky eaters get the benefits of greens.
Can I give my puppy Meat Mixer?
Yes, Meat Mixer is also formulated for puppies. Just follow the instructions for puppies, not adult dogs since puppies, pregnant and nursing moms have higher nutritional needs than adult dogs.
Is Meat Mixer keto-friendly?
Of course! Meat Mixer is designed to be an ancestral or prey-model food that mimics the diet your dog would eat in the wild. That means a high protein diet that's high in protein, moderate in fat and contains less than 5% carbohydrate.
Is Meat Mixer high in omega-3 fats?
Out of the box, Meat Mixer will give your dog a healthy balance of fats if used with low fat meats. But since omega-3 fats like DHA and EPA are not shelf stable, we don’t add them to Meat Mixer. These fats are very likely to oxidize, which can cause inflammation in your dog, so we recommend combining Meat Mixer with Safe-Sea to make sure your dog gets all the omega-3 fats he needs.
Is Meat Mixer more expensive than raw and cooked foods?
Meat Mixer is the perfect way to save on the most expensive ingredient in your dog’s diet without sacrificing quality. Unlike premade foods, you can control the quality and cost of the meats you serve your dog. Buy in bulk and save or stock up when ground meats go on sale.
Why is the Vitamin E content lower than AAFCO recommends?
While Meat Mixer is formulated to meet NRC and AAFCO nutritional requirements, it's important to understand that these requirements are for cooked and extruded foods. When food is cooked and processed, two things happen:
1. There is a large loss of vitamins and a small loss of minerals
2. The food is expected to sit on shelves for months or years
Because Meat Mixer is formulated to be fed raw or gently cooked, there will be minimal vitamin loss. But when it comes to vitamin E, AAFCO wants excessively large amounts in food to act as a preservative. Once again, Meat Mixer is served fresh, so there's no need for that amount of vitamin E. We simply won't add that much vitamin E because it's not natural and it's not necessary for a fresh food.
How do I cook Meat Mixer?
It's best to cook Meat Mixer below 350 degrees Fahrenheit to maintain the highest nutritional quality. You can put the prepared food in the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Can I give Meat Mixer to pregnant or nursing moms?
For mothers in the second half of their pregnancy or for nursing moms, prepare Meat Mixer as you would for puppies, or as directed by your veterinarian. This ensures mom gets the right balance of calcium and minerals. Follow the puppy feeding guidelines and adjust the feeding amount as needed.
