Raw Beef & Chicken Neck Dog Food Recipe: All Life Stages

NOTE: This food meets AAFCO minimum requirements for adult dogs and puppies.
Ingredients
Makes 11.1 pounds of raw food. This is roughly a 6 day supply for a 50 pound dog. You may need to adjust the daily amount based on your dog’s breed and activity level.
Raw Beef & Chicken Neck Dog Food Recipe Ingredients:
2 pounds 90% lean beef (do not use fattier meats)
3 pounds chicken necks with skin removed (be sure to weigh your necks but this is about 33 chicken necks)
1 pound beef liver
1 pounds chicken heart
1 pound beef heart
10 pastured eggs without the shells
8 ounces (3 large stalks) kale
8 ounces (2 stalks) broccoli
8 ounces (4 chopped cups) dandelion greens
12 ounces (2 small clamshell packages) blueberries or mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and cranberries)
30 grams (3 Tablespoons) hulled hemp seeds or hemp hearts
6 grams (1 Tablespoon) green lipped mussel powder
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
Substitutions
You can replace the chicken or turkey necks with 4 Tablespoons bone meal.
Directions
If you have a grinder, grind the necks, heart and turkey liver. If you don’t have a grinder, that’s okay … most puppies are able to easily consume necks. If you don’t grind them, simply set the necks aside and chop the liver and heart into small cubes.
Puree the eggs, kale, broccoli, dandelion greens, berries, hemp seeds, green lipped mussel and salt in a food processor.
Mix the ground beef, liver, heart and veggie/berry mix together. Also include the necks if they were ground.
Place the mixture into smaller containers and place them in your freezer, along with the chicken necks if left whole. It’s best to freeze your food in 1-3 day portions.
It isn’t important for your dog to get both the necks and the meat mixture together. If you don’t grind the necks into the meat mixture, feed just the necks for one meal and the meat mix for the second meal.
Improving The Fats
We recommend feeding Safe-Sea daily to help balance your dog’s fatty acids. This will bring the omega-6/omega-3 ratio from 7:1 down to 4:1.
But don’t add any oil to the recipe directly. To reduce oxidation, you don’t want to expose the oil to oxygen for too long. Instead, give it daily with your dog’s meal.
IMPORTANT
The ingredients in this recipe have been carefully chosen to meet AAFCO minimum nutrition requirements for adult dogs. Do not replace ingredients or vary the amounts too much … this may unbalance the food. The berries are optional but all other ingredients need to be in the recipe in the listed amounts.
